“Severus Snape wasn’t yours. Snape was Dumbledore’s from the moment you started hunting down my mother. And you never realized this because of the thing you can’t understand. You never saw Snape cast a Patronus, did you, Riddle?”

is when they aren’t offended or put off or annoyed by that scene in the movies where severus is crying and holding lily’s (dead) body. not only was it not in the books (because what the hell, it’s ridiculous), severus walked past or over or whatver james’ dead body. and is holding her dead body. maybe it’s because, having been molested as a child, i’m very DON’T TOUCH ME DON’T TOUCH ME DON’T TOUCH ME. but i can’t imagine her wanting someone she perceived as evil (he was fighting on the opposite side of the war, fighting against her and killing people just like her) holding her, cradling her when she couldn’t stop it.

I can’t believe I have to explain this to people but: You do not get to dictate how someone grieves. And stop tagging your fucking Snape hate.

A woman threw herself off the Titanic when she could have been saved because someone she loved died. When you are in that state of mind, when you see someone you love dead, you do not think, you do not use proper judgement, you just do. Ok? and as someone who hates being touched after being abused for her whole life, I did not find this seen creepy because I actually found it sad.

I didn’t watch this and go: oh ewwwwwwwww james and lily 4 ever!!!1!! how dare he step over a guys dead body (who couldn’t be helped anyways so I don’t get your point)  and how dare he grieve in a way that I disagree with!1!!. You guys are all assholes and this is coming from a Jilly shipper.

I am so close to being done with this fandom.

This isn’t Severus hate. It’s tagged with Severus Snape because I legitimately wanted to know, if you someone didn’t agree, why they didn’t find it creepy or awkward or weird. I honestly don’t see how it’s sad. I wasn’t watching it thinking about James and Lily. This isn’t a matter of Jily versus Snily, but about this scene legitimately freaking me out. The fact that I ship Jily has nothing to do with this post. The fact that I don’t ship Snily has nothing to do with this post. This has to do with the fact that Severus is holding her dead body, rocking her, which is not canon and is really freaking weird to me. This isn’t about him grieving in a way I disagree with. This is about the movies being ridiculous with this scene. He loved her, that’s great, but she didn’t love him and can you imagine dying and having an ex-friend who wanted everyone like you dead cradling your body as your son cries in the background? This isn’t a matter of shipping who you ship, and if you’re done with this fandom I don’t blame you because you took this way out of proportion and misunderstood me.

I still want to know why you like this scene, why it made you sad, other than “he’s grieving” because why, yes, he’s sad — it doesn’t negate the creepiness of him invading her privacy and space at a time when she can’t do anything to stop it.

my biggest pet peeve of the harry potter fandom

is when they aren’t offended or put off or annoyed by that scene in the movies where severus is crying and holding lily’s (dead) body. not only was it not in the books (because what the hell, it’s ridiculous), severus walked past or over or whatver james’ dead body. and is holding her dead body. maybe it’s because, having been molested as a child, i’m very DON’T TOUCH ME DON’T TOUCH ME DON’T TOUCH ME. but i can’t imagine her wanting someone she perceived as evil (he was fighting on the opposite side of the war, fighting against her and killing people just like her) holding her, cradling her when she couldn’t stop it.

plus jesus harry’s in the background sobbing and so frightened and scared and severus is just LIIIIILY~ and jesus THERE’S A TODDLER SCREAMING IN THE BACKGROUND HOW ARE YOU IGNORING THIS?

i mean this isn’t directed at snily shippers, but the fandom in general. this upsets me so much. does anyone else feel the same way? or why does it not upset you, if it doesn’t?

BUT SHE SAYS IT TO HER SON IN A COMPLETELY UNRELATED SCENE

Did I once imply that her line was related to and/or directly linked to Severus’ line?

No.

I simply pointed out a fact.

No need for yelling.

if you go through…

…………………………

“Did I once imply that her line was related to and/or directly linked to Severus’ line?

No.”

“Because to my mind, there is a connection”

gihewgi what is the point of this conversation.

i’m sure he will say he put that line in, despite the lack of relevance it holds to all of the books. the entire last movie was a huge pity fest for severus and a huge shipping spree for sev and lily.

i really was just objecting to the fact that people hold those lines as such a huge deal, when in reality, on lily’s side, having her say always to link her with severus was just about the farthest the movies could have come from the books.

severus & james’ shipping name could be

javerus

or

pope.

haha wow

My last post about Harrys dad, I was just wanting to make an observation about how everything Snape said about how he acted was true, I wasn’t expecting any comments. I know he grew and changed and I like James I was just being snarky and I accidentally enabled answers. I even went back to edit after I posted but they wont let you change that so I was like “Nah nobody will answer anyway…” Boy you guys love your James….

xDDD i didn’t take my answer seriously and was equally as snarky. i don’t think most of the people who responded were being especially serious anyway? <3

draconian-idealism:

It is true that Lily Evans knew Severus Snape before Hogwarts and was his best friend before he went over to the Death Eaters. He has loved her forever; he never stopped loving her. I’m sorry, Sev, that you dealt with unrequited love your entire life.

But James Potter showed her how to live life…

‘James Potter and Sirius Black. Apprehended using an illegal hex upon Bertram Aubrey. Aubrey’s head twice normal size. Double detention.’ Snape sneered. ‘It must be such a comfort to think that, though they are gone, a record of their great achievements remains …’

“I’m sorry.”
“I’m not interested.”
“I’m sorry!”
“Save your breath. I only came out because Mary told me you were threatening to sleep here.”
“I was. I would have done. I never meant to call you Mudblood, it just —”
“Slipped out?” Her voice was completely lacking in pity as she stared up at her childhood friend. “It’s too late. I’ve made excuses for you for years. None of my friends can understand why I even talk to you. You and your precious Death Eater friends — you see, you don’t even deny it! You don’t even deny that’s what you’re all aiming to be! You can’t wait to join You-Know-Who, can you?”
She watched as he opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again before he could say anything.
“I can’t pretend anymore. You’ve chosen your way, I’ve chosen mine.”
“No — listen, I didn’t mean —”
“— to call me Mudblood? But you call everyone of my birth Mudblood, Severus. Why should I be any different?”
He struggled to find something else to say, but she sent him one last glare before retreating back into her common room.

“Evans, Lily!” The women who had introduced herself as McGonagall (though Lily had already met the lady when she had called on her parents to explain about Hogwarts, and had bombarded the poor old lady with countless questions) called her name. On trembling legs, she found her seat on the stool students had already sat on. The Sorting Hat was dropped on her head, and after barely a moment, it shouted “Gryffindor!” at her. Taking of the hat, she handed it back to McGonagall before taking off for the correct table. She ignored the clapping and cheers, instead glancing back at Severus with a sad smile. When she got to the table, she went to sit down, and realized her mistake too late. The one boy on the train was there, and he had moved down on the bench to make room for her. She huffed loudly, turning her back on him intently. As the roll call continued, three boys and three girls were sorted at their table before it came around to Severus’ turn.

She was watching him intently as he made his way toward the hat. He himself placed the hat on his head, and it shouted “Slytherin!” amidst the silence of the hall. Clapping broke out from the other side of the hall, and she watched as he went to sit next to a tall blonde…”
